Join local landholders, ecologists, bush regenerators and other experts working across our region to improve and restore koala habitat.
This property displays revegetation plantings from 25 years old to a few months old along with restoration works in existing Koala habitat and other examples of biodiversity conservation initiatives.
The field day will involve a walk of approximately 1.5 hours at a slow pace, with plenty of stops to talk. The walk will involve uneven terrain, including some inclines and boggy sections. Long sleeves, trousers, and sturdy footwear is essential, and gumboots required with rain. Come prepared in case of light showers, as the event will still go ahead.
After the walk, there will be presentations and time for Q&A along with lunch provided.
This workshop will explore:
• the threats to Koala habitat and restoration strategies
• Planting models for your property, including species selection, choosing different spacings, maintenance and management, and pros and cons
• Opportunities available to landholders, including conservation agreements and grants
