Roseberry Creek Landcare Inc Projects
Upper Richmond Bushfire Recovery Project
Landcare Led Bushfire Recovery Grant - valued at $45 800
This project will support a number of private landowners in the upper reaches of the Richmond River with recovery of the rainforest and moist sclerophyll forest along the riparian areas of the Richmond River and its upper tributary, Burnett’s Creek. This project will engage skilled bush regenerators to conduct weed control along 800m of the Richmond River and 2km of it’s tributary, Burnett’s Creek. Restoration will be supported with revegetation in opportunistic sites, where natural regeneration is limited, through a community planting event as facilitated by Roseberry Creek Landcare, with promotion through the broader Landcare community. A scoping assessment of the severity of vine weed incursion through the upper Burnett's creek catchment within the Mt Lindesay State Forest will also be conducted. This will enable confident justification for the resourcing required to address the impacts this catchment area presents to these downstream private properties.
The Landcare Led Bushfire Recovery project has been supported by the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery Program for Wildlife and their Habitat.
